Lucknow: Priyanka Maurya, a member of the State Women's Commission, was targeted by unidentified individuals through a spoof call demanding her personal information. She has lodged a complaint against the perpetrators at Krishnanagar police station. The complaint alleges that the callers impersonated the personal assistants of the chief minister's principal secretary and the DM of Unnao in order to extract personal details from her. Priyanka suspects that political opponents are attempting to tarnish her reputation through deceptive tactics. An investigation is underway following the filing of the complaint. The first call, wherein the caller claimed to be the PA of the DM of Unnao, was received by Priyanka on September 9 at her residence in the LDA Colony on Kanpur Road. Subsequently, on September 30, she received another call from an individual purporting to be the PA of the chief minister's principal secretary, once again seeking her personal information under false pretenses of upcoming responsibilities. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Priyanka reported the incidents to the Krishnanagar police station. Deputy Commissioner of Police for the South Zone, Keshav Kumar, confirmed the lodging of an FIR and ongoing investigative measures.
